‘CALAIS LIGHT’

How We Are Helping Refugees – Feeding Without Judging

Have you ever wanted to help destitute migrants in Calais but not known where to start? Calais Light runs a regular car convoy every 2-3 months from Brentwood Cathedral taking ordinary people to chop vegetables & wood and sort donations for the refugees at the amazing Help Refugees UK Warehouse in Calais. It’s a work of mercy!

Help Refugees & Refugees Community Kitchen in Calais are desperate for volunteers!

We leave in cars together on the Friday at noon and come back on the Sunday at 7pm. It’s totally compatible with work as we go just for the weekend!

We book everything for you (transport, ferry, accommodation, meals – all in) so it has never been easier to volunteer and make a massive difference to those who are in need but who have fallen off the news agenda.

  • It’s cheap! Cheaper than you could do it alone
  • If you can’t drive, don’t own a car, don’t speak French, don’t know where to find the refugees, want a ‘different’ volunteering opportunity – this is perfect for you
  • We take the ‘scariness’ out of volunteering alone
  • We go as a big friendly group. It’s hard work but great fun! 18-75 years.
