10 December 2011
Many congratulations to David Worsfold and his team of Parish Hall fundraisers, who have managed once again to produce a wonderful musical evening in the Cathedral.
The Singalong Messiah performed on 10th December was a great success, with excellent performances from the four soloists, Julia Wilson-James, (Soprano), Chloë Trehane (Alto) , Richard Dowling (Tenor) and Stephen Charlesworth (Bass).
Under the expert and sensitive direction of Andrew Wright, the orchestra and chorus produced sparkling performances, while Stephen King skillfully commanded alternately the continuo and the Cathedral organ.
Of particular note amongst the orchestral players was Rebecca Toft and her trumpet.
